Turning crimson? Sylvan Esso have stunned followers with a brand new single entitled “Sunburn.”
It marks the band’s first launch since their Grammy-nominated 2020 LP, Free Love, and the following WITH LOVE EP.
Written in Los Angeles again in January, the one is a cathartic three-minute, synth-driven pop ballad about feeling so pleasant that it turns into uncomfortable, or the ache that may accompany feeling one thing so good.
Of the one, the duo — comprised of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn — shared in a press release:
“Sunburn” is:
consuming sweet til you are sick
using your bike too quick down a hill
while you’re 5 years outdated and do not need to get out of the water, and by the tip you are shivering and all of your fingers are pruney and your lips are turned purple
an undertow that sneaks up unsuspectingly
the painful pulsing pink of swollen eyelids leftover after a day mendacity within the solar
plunging ahead with out time for second-guessing
produced by Sylvan Esso
for you.
Hearken to “Sunburn” under.
